About Swaddle
Swaddle is a baby sleep tracker for iPhone, made by Saas Studio LLC. We built it for the long nights: one tap to log, a gentle forecast of the next nap, and a seal to keep you company.
How we write our guides
- Sources first. Health and safety facts come from public health bodies and medical organizations (the American Academy of Pediatrics, the CDC, the WHO, the NHS) and from peer-reviewed research. Every guide lists its sources at the bottom.
- Honest about evidence. A lot of baby sleep advice is experience, not research. Wake windows, most "sleep regressions" and power pumping are good examples. When something is a common practice rather than a proven fact, we say so.
- Safety is not optional. Safe sleep guidance (back to sleep, a clear crib, room-sharing without bed-sharing) is included wherever sleep is discussed.
- Reviewed and dated. Each page shows when it was last reviewed. We revisit pages when guidance changes.
- Not medical advice. Our guides are general information. They do not replace your pediatrician, who knows your baby.
Where the calculator numbers come from
- Wake windows, naps and bedtimes use the same age model as the Swaddle app: published wake-window ranges, interpolated week by week. Total sleep ranges come from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the National Sleep Foundation.
- Growth percentiles use the WHO Child Growth Standards, from the official data files the CDC publishes.
- Formula amounts follow the American Academy of Pediatrics rule of thumb of about 2.5 ounces per pound per day, up to 32 ounces.
- Breast milk amounts are based on research that measured how much exclusively breastfed babies drink from 1 to 6 months.
- Storage times come from the CDC.
